Appointment of Robert Stevens to CEO
The Board of Education New Zealand Trust has confirmed the appointment of Robert Stevens to the position of Chief Executive.
Robert currently holds two key positions within the international education field in Australia. He is currently employed as Director, International Group, within the Australian Federal Department of Education, Science and Training as well as serving as one of the Directors of Australia Education International (the Australian Government’s international education network).
Prior to moving to Australia, Robert was employed for five years as the International Manager of the New Zealand Ministry of Education, where he was responsible for handling all aspects of the Ministry’s international engagement, including managing the Ministry’s relationship with Education New Zealand. Other career highlights include working for six years at the New Zealand House of Representatives as Executive Assistant to Hon John Luxton, Associate Minister of Education, Minister of Commerce and Minister of Housing; and employment as a Researcher in the Parliamentary Research Unit.
Robert is replacing Lester Taylor who has been the Chief Executive of the Trust since it was established in January 1999.
Robert will take up the position of Chief
Executive Officer of Education New Zealand on 23 June
2003.
