New Members Broaden Education Forum Policy Base
The Education Forum today proudly announced the addition of two prominent industry representatives as members.
The new members are Phil O'Reilly, chief executive of Business New Zealand; and Marilyn Brady, chief executive of ETITO (the electrical industry training organisation) and Industry Training Federation board member.
The announcement follows the August addition of three educationalists to the Education Forum.
Chairman John Morris said the industry-based appointees reflected a continued broadening of the Education Forum's policy base.
"Skills development and training are very important to New Zealand's economy and we welcome the strong industry knowledge and experience that Marilyn Brady and Phil O'Reilly bring to the Education Forum."
Mr Morris said widening the Forum's membership was designed to encourage debate and foster innovation across all areas of education and training.
The Education Forum is an association of individuals who have a common concern for the future direction of New Zealand education. The membership is drawn from leaders in all education sectors, together with leaders of industry and commerce. There are now 14 members.
