Orientation gig returns to Palmy

New Zealand’s biggest Orientation gig returns to Palmy

The Black Seeds are set to play the annual Student City Day Concert on 3rd March in Palmerston North. The concert which in previous years has featured Shihad and the Violent Femmes attracts up to 5000 people to The Square in Palmerston North for a free open air gig to celebrate the start of term.

The Black Seeds who recently had a number one album with “Into the Dojo” will be supported by Hollie Smith, Open Souls and a host of other acts like The Livids, Radio Control and the Bing Turkby Ensemble.

Organizers are really excited about this year’s event. “This is the single biggest orientation gig in the country,” said Kevin Delaney, Student City Coordinator, “We’ve got a great line up, the location is perfect, it’s going to be amazing”

The event, now in its third year, is growing all the time and is the cities chance to welcome the students back and for the students to celebrate in anticipation of the year ahead. More information on the Student City Day Concert and the rest of Orientation in Palmerston North is available from www.Studentcity.co.nz

The Student City campaign is a joint initiative between Massey University, UCOL, Palmerston North City Council, MUSA, AS@U and Vision Manawatu and is focused on highlighting the vibrant and exciting student culture that exists in Palmerston North.
