New Appointment as Wintec Moves Up a Gear
Wintec (Waikato Institute of Technology) has appointed Wendy Gillespie to the position of Planning Manager. The position of Planning Manager was formerly held by David Christiansen who has taken up the position of senior adviser to CEO Mark Flowers.
Ms. Gillespie has recently taken some time off to complete a PhD in Strategic Management. Prior to this, her career has focused predominantly in business process improvement, strategy and policy development, within the public sector. Her previous positions include Hamilton City Council Group Business Manager & Unit Manager, New Zealand Housing Corporation Business Planning & Strategic Manager, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Principle Advisor, State Sector Performance and Auditing Manager for Te Puni Kokiri.
Ms. Gillespie said she was excited to be joining Wintec at a time when the institute was surging forward so strongly, along with solid strategic partners to improve economic outcomes for the region.
“Clearly a lot of groundwork has been accomplished within Wintec in recent years and I’m looking forward to being part of the team that is now ready to move up a gear in terms of it’s role in the region.”
