Nannies for children- coffees for Mums
Nannies for children- coffees for Mums: A Spoonful of Sugar is all about fun!
This week will see the opening of a new “type” of café in Ponsonby offering experienced nannies on site to care for children. Frances Mahoney (former owner of Deschlers) is opening “A spoonful of sugar” which will offer the usual café atmosphere but with many extras. The food will not be standard café fare, instead Mums can enjoy a long lunch while able to watch their children being entertained and cared for by Nannies on huge plasma screens throughout the café.
Frances has teamed up with Lisa Rutledge, owner of KiwiOz Nannies to supply qualified and experienced nannies to care for children aged from 12 months and up 7 days a week. As an International NZ owned agency KiwiOz was keen to get involved as it is a great way to offer the care nannies can provide to this larger market.
A spoonful of sugar is the first of its kind to open on our shores, with plans to include a pilates and yoga studio this is ideal for Mums who do not have the luxury of full time childcare in their own home. Here they will be able to have some time out and relax knowing their children are mixing with others and are being cared for in a small adult to child ratio environment. No parents or caregivers are able to leave the site when children are in the nanny room but there are many things they are able to do whilst there.
Other services looking to be offered in the near future include a venue for children’s parties, baby gym and baby yoga exercise groups.
