2009 BACI Lounge International Short Story Competition Prize
Winning students receive an iPOD shuffle and their school receives donation of books (minimum value $2000) to school library; in addition, the winning stories will be published on the www.bacilounge.com website.
ELIGIBILITY: Students must be aged 10 at closing date of competition. NZ entries: Primary School students of DECILE 1 and 2 schools in the greater Auckland region (Waitakere, Manukau, North Shore, Rodney/Franklin and Auckland regions) Australian entries: Primary School students of STATE schools in the Brisbane region (Brisbane Central and West, Brisbane North, Brisbane South and South East Brisbane education districts) Limited to ONE entry per student. NO entry fee. WORD LIMIT: 500 words and the story must be handwritten. Theme of story for 2009: If I ruled the world…
Entries to be mailed to: BACI LOUNGE INTERNATIONAL SHORT STORY COMPETITION C/o Dr. Sharad P Paul, Director, Baci Lounge 271A Blockhouse Bay Rd, Auckland 0600 New Zealand (entries can also be sent to Baci Lounge stores) Entries close: 10 July 2009 (entries post marked 10 July will be accepted) Results announced: 21 Aug 2009 (will be published on our website and winners will be contacted by post). Judges decision will be final and no correspondence will be allowed in this regard. Entries should have name of student and name of school on a separate sheet attached to the entry. The winning story will be the one considered by the judges to be the best written story. There will be one prize winner in Australia and New Zealand.

The Baci Lounge team runs many literacy programs and the annual BACI LOUNGE SHORT STORY COMPETITION is one of our many initiatives.
