Huntly student wins laptop
Huntly student wins laptop for herself and one for her school
Wintec’s “Huge Day Out” was held Tuesday 25th August with an estimated 1200 secondary school students attending from as far away as Kaitaia and Taupo.
The “Huge Day Out” involved staff and students from all of the Wintec Schools and allowed visitors to participate in any of the activities including three tour buses from the City to both the Gardens and Avalon campuses leaving every 30 minutes.
Wintec highlighted it’s hands-on approach with a series of “Try it!” workshops to give students a chance to actively participate in many of the things we learn and teach at Wintec from Website design tips, virtual mechanics and mega-memory techniques through to chocolate creations and food preparation.
Tickets earned by completing activities could either be redeemed for refreshments or entered into a prize draw - the major win being 1 laptop for the school and 1 laptop for the student.
The winner is Ashleigh Luke from Huntly College and she will be presented with the two laptop computers tomorrow at the school assembly at 10:30a.m.
