Trustees organisation welcomes primary teachers/principals proposed settlements
Boards of trustees of primary schools will be pleased that proposed settlements have been reached in the primary teachers and primary principals collective agreements says Lorraine Kerr, President, New Zealand School Trustees Association.
“Undoubtedly settling pay and conditions claims has been somewhat more difficult in the current tight economic climate, and we are pleased that the parties have persisted though to settlements which seem fair and reasonable to all”
The New Zealand Educational Institute (NZEI) will be recommending ratification of both the teachers and principals offer, with voting happening over the next few weeks.
We applaud the sensible and pragmatic
approach taken by the parties in successfully working
through to settlement of these important collective
agreements says Ms Kerr,
and we look forward to a
successful ratification
process
