Susan Warren to the role of Chief Executive at COMET

The COMET Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Warren to the role of Chief Executive, effective 2nd September 2011.
"We are delighted that Susan has accepted the challenge of leading COMET through its next stage of development," says Stuart Middleton, Board Chair. "She has excellent networks and brings a wealth of knowledge of the education and community environment across Auckland."
Susan has been the Manager of the Centre for Family Learning at COMET since March 2010 where she has established Te Whanau Ara Mua an adult learning and literacy programme, set up a network of family learning providers, and led COMET's early childhood education work.
Susan previously worked with the Ministry of Education, working with schools raise achievement in literacy and numeracy. She also designed and led the Pasifika Schooling Improvement project, a national project to improve the effectiveness of interventions for Pasifika students. Susan has authored a variety of educational resources for World Vision New Zealand including books, DVDs, photo packs and interactive internet sites to help NZ children learn more about the developing world.
