A Public Meeting on Charter Schools with Dr Mike Feinberg
A Public Meeting on Charter Schools with Dr Mike Feinberg
Can charter schools make a difference and is there a place for them in New Zealand?
Spaces are still available for tonight’s charter schools public meeting in Auckland with Dr Mike Feinberg, co-founder of the United States’ Knowledge Is Power Programme (KIPP), a public charter schools network. This is the third and final meeting of Dr Feinberg’s New Zealand visit. The previous two meetings were held in Wellington and Christchurch earlier this week, as a part of building public understanding of Partnership Schools.
Tonight’s meeting is hosted by The University of Auckland and The New Zealand Initiative, with support from the Aotearoa Foundation. This meeting is open to the public and will be held from 7pm in Owen G. Glenn Building at The University of Auckland.
This is an opportunity to hear about a US model of charter schools with proven results in lifting educational achievement for disadvantaged students.
