Future Problem Solving National Champions
St Margaret's College Year 7 students Caroline Wells, Sujean In, Petra Green and Anoushka Chiswell won the Year 7 Division of Future Problem Solving at the National Finals held in Auckland from November 1 - 3. They won the academic booklet as well as the dramatic presentation. The girls studied the topic of 'Ocean Soup' in just three weeks learning about the serious pollution problem affecting the world's oceans. They then followed a very formatted process to arrive at a Plan of Action which was dramatically presented.
St Margaret's College was well represented at the national finals as they also had a Year 9 team qualify.
Coach Julie Rogers said that the girls' commitment and love of learning led to their success throughout the year.
