Auckland, New Zealand Wednesday, 4 December 2013 – From an outstanding field of applicants for 2013 Attitude Awards Trust AUT University Communications Scholarship, presented on World Disability Day (International Day of People with Disability) at the 2013 Attitude Awards in Auckland, Olivia Cartwright, 19, of Kerikeri was an obvious choice to receive the top prize.
The Copy Collective CEO, Dominique Antarakis, said that Olivia was an outstanding candidate and a worthy recipient of the scholarship.
“Despite living with a significant learning disability, Olivia has overcome much in her fledgling career to become an outstanding student winning local and national awards for her studies during the past four years.
“At The Copy Collective, we believe that if students with disabilities are given the opportunity to participate in mainstream education and have pathways to employment then they will achieve their full potential and our society will be better for it.
“We are delighted to congratulate Olivia on her achievements to date and we look forward to watching her progress in the years to come.
The Copy Collective is contributing $NZD2,000 annually for three years to the scholarship and providing a 4-week internship for the scholarship winner.
