Te Kura Maori o Waatea was officially opened this morning by Minister of Education Hon Hekia Parata, Education Under Secretary David Seymour and Manukau Urban Maori Authority CEO Willie Jackson.
Minister Parata praised the work of MUMA and Waatea in raising the educational aspirations of our children.
A passport to educational achievement is the basis of Kura Hourua she says.
Partnerships Schools is about challenging the status quo, to raise the bar of achievement Ms Parata says.
Kura Hourua is a choice on the menu of options, congratulations the Minister added.
Te Kura Maori o Waatea is in Mangere and based at Nga Whare Waatea Marae.
