AHE Homeschooling Conference
AHE Homeschooling Conference key note speaker is a High School Principal whose kids are homeschooled.
Auckland, May 9th 2015---Educators are flocking to the Auckland Home Educators (AHE) Conference, Learning Together. The day-long event is jam packed with top quality workshops and speakers. The Conference Marketplace will boast an array of resources and products and the info centre a comprehensive list of groups, classes, and activities for homeschoolers. This is an opportunity for Auckland homeschoolers to network and be inspired.
Many participants state the drawcard of hearing Larne Edmeades speak. Larne is the Principal of ACG Parnell College and is Dad to four homeschooled kids. This event embraces the diversity of Auckland’s lively homeschooling community, whether people be unschoolers, of a more academic home school approach, or eclectic learners, whether faith based or secular. From parents new to homeschooling, support people, educators or those who have homeschooled for years, there is something for everyone at the AHE Homeschoolers conference.
To quote another of the conference’s main speakers, Stephanie Walmsley who is a trained teacher, a homeschooler since 1985, and who has inspired many homeschoolers through her work:
“Home education is not about creating mini-school at home. It’s about nurturing young minds, setting a feast of learning before your children, growing with your children, and growing together as a family” – Stephanie Walmsley.
AHE’s role is to help and support families in the Auckland region who chose to home educate. We seek to provide regional events for homeschooling parents and children, and point people to local groups and resources in their area. The Learning Together Conference is a reflection of this role.
