Students Upskill with EIT Workshops
EIT is becoming increasingly popular as a destination tertiary educator with workshops in applied areas such as wine science attracting secondary school students from throughout New Zealand.
Recently a group of 50 senior students from Taupo-nui-a-Tia College spent a day on campus. Split into two groups, the students – most studying chemistry – took part in a three-hour workshop in EIT’s wine science laboratory.
The students dovetailed that with workshops staged in the schools of nursing and recreation and sport.
EIT also hosted a recent group of Year 9 extension and enrichment students from Napier Girls’ High School – the third group to take part in a practical workshop on yeast and fermentation offered by EIT’s School of Viticulture and Wine Science.
