THE SALVATION ARMY PUTS THOUSANDS OUT ON THE STREET

For 117 years The Salvation Army has offered a compassionate hand to millions of kiwis throughout New Zealand.

"To ensure the social welfare and community service provided by The Salvation Army is available into the new millennium, The Salvation Army will put 13,000 people out on the street tonight to help door-knock New Zealand for the annual Red Shield Appeal" Major Ray Tunstall said.

Major Tunstall said, "Our goal is to raise $1million through the door-knock tonight. Should you miss the collector, donations can be given by using the distinctive Red Shield Appeal house holder envelope or by phoning our credit card donation line 0800 72 55 43".
