Time For Health Providers To Build Bridges Between Old And New Treatments, Conference Told

Calls for greater cooperation and understanding between all health providers will be made at an international medical conference which opens in Auckland on Friday (Mar 23).

Delegates will hear presentations from local and international authorities on leading-edge research and effective, less-invasive therapies which are being increasingly sought by patients.

Conference organiser Dr Tane Taylor, chairman of the New Zealand Chelation Therapy Society, says the objective of the conference – “Medicine in the New Millennium: Fringe or Frontier?” - is to promote an open-minded approach to all aspects of modern medicine. It’s the first conference of its kind in New Zealand.

“Presenters will point out that all medical practitioners are operating in a consumer-focused environment and it’s important for us to build safe bridges between health service providers,” Says Dr Taylor.

Over the next three days more than 100 delegates from Asia Pacific, the U.S and Europe will hear presentations on such issues as the role of mercury dental amalgam in Alzheimer’s Disease, breakthrough gene research on reversing human ageing, advances in the treatment and prevention of diabetes, and the place of traditional (Maori) healing in modern medicine.
