Annual Appeal Bigger Success Than Ever ...

Thank You New Zealand and Thank You Shell!

Barnardos, the child care and support agency, has announced a record $430,000 for its annual appeal this year, over $100,000 more than last year, and donations are still coming in.

The Barnardos appeal ran from March 5-9. All money raised will be used to support Barnardos services for at risk, disadvantaged and abused children in New Zealand. “This is a fantastic result,” says Ian Calder, Barnardos Chief Executive “and a big thank you must go to everyone who donated to our annual appeal, who volunteered to help, and to Shell for their continued support. Without your help, and recognition of the problems for children in our country, many of our services for children and families would not be viable.”

Through Family Support, and other services, Barnardos works with at risk children and their families. It also helps children who have suffered abuse and neglect. These services are supported by the money raised in the annual appeal.
