Stanley Street/Beach Road/Parnell Rise lane change
4 September 2002
Stanley Street/Beach Road/Parnell Rise lane changes
Transit New Zealand would like to advise all motorists of changes to traffic lanes at the Stanley Street/Beach Road/Parnell Rise intersection this weekend (7 and 8 September).
During the weekend there will be no access to Parnell Rise and Stanley Street from Beach Road, and traffic will be diverted through Ronayne Street. Access to Beach Road from Parnell Rise, The Strand and Churchill Street will not be affected. Stanley Street will be reduced to a single right turn lane with Churchill Street operating as an alternative route.
Delays to northbound traffic are expected and Transit recommends motorists use alternative routes. All changes will be clearly sign-posted.
The changes are required to enable a stormwater pipeline to be laid across the Stanley Street/Beach Road intersection. The work is part of Transit New Zealand’s Grafton Gully Project.
Transit thanks all road users in advance for their co-operation and apologise for any inconvenience.
For more information regarding the closures, and the Grafton Gully Project, motorists can phone 0800 TO FREEFLOW (0800 863 733) or visit the project information centre on the corner of Stanley Street and Alten Road.
