Recall on some products lifted as Australian industry corrects information
The New Zealand Food Safety Authority has been advised by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration that it has revoked the recall on some 200 products included in the Pan Pharmaceuticals recall.
NZFSA Director of Regulatory Standards, Carole Inkster, said the Minister for Food Safety has now revoked the recall on those products in New Zealand as well. The recall on all other products, however, would remain in place.
“The TGA has advised NZFSA that 224 products that were not manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals were recalled in Australia based on information from the industry. The industry in Australia, after further investigation, has advised the TGA that these products were not manufactured by, or did not include any ingredients manufactured by Pan Pharmaceuticals so their recall has been lifted,” Ms Inkster said.
“New Zealand
followed Australia’s recall notices as a matter of public
safety, so we will also lift the recall on the sale and
distribution of those products. The TGA advised that it
based its recall notices on information from the industry in
Australia. The list of products can be found on the NZFSA
website www.nzfsa.govt.nz,” Ms Inkster
said.
