Push Play Tomorrow

MEDIA RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 6 November 03

Push Play Tomorrow

Get off the couch and move that body is the call for Push Play Day being celebrated across the country tomorrow. In its third year, Push Play Day is the annual day SPARC (Sport & Recreation New Zealand) promotes physical activity.

SPARC’s General Manager Participation, Deb Hurdle, says the day is an opportunity to celebrate being active, and to raise national awareness of the importance of regular physical activity for a healthy life.

“We know that one in three New Zealand adults isn’t active enough to gain the health benefits from regular physical activity. Push Play Day sees SPARC and our partners in the sport and recreation sector promoting getting more people, more active more often,” she says.

Regional Sports Trusts (RSTs), some Iwi and Territorial Authorities will be hosting activity events designed to get people active.

For what’s happening in your region on Push Play Day check out www.pushplay.org.nz for more details.
