New Head for Comvita Medical Division

News Release
April 7, 2004

Former Physicist With International Business Experience Heads Comvita Medical Division

Former English physicist and science publisher Ray Lewis, 39, has been appointed manager of the Comvita Medical Division based in Cambridge. The appointment follows Comvita Limited's acquisition of Bee & Herbal NZ Ltd. and Apimed Medical Honey Limited, and the subsequent formation of its new medical division.

Lewis joined Comvita this week after working on contract as business development manager with Ag Research in Hamilton. He was previously global vice-president for INSPEC, a science publishing company, based in New York. Lewis sees 'transitioning the occasionally skeptical traditionalists in the medical field to the benefits of utilising manuka honey in the treatment of wounds' as the main challenge facing him.

A family man with two children, Lewis has been in New Zealand since 2002. He takes a keen interest in sports including golf, soccer and rugby.
