RE: PRESCRIPTION & DOCTOR CHARGES FOR OVER 65s
Grey Power NZ National President, Mr Graham Stairmand states "Grey Power applauds the initiative that provides lower prescription charges and lower GP fees to all those over 65 enrolled in a PHO, as from today's date."
"We urge the government to accelerate the establishing of PHOs in all areas so that all elderly can receive these benefits."
"Grey Power are concerned however, that recent news reports and member feedback indicate some GPs and Pharmacies, although part of a PHO, are not willing to pass on this Government reduction. Therefore, in some cases those with community services cards will remain with the old charges."
"We urge the government to police this policy vigorously so that all who are entitled to receive the reductions, do so," says Mr Stairmand.
