Health authorities concerned for well-being of mother
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board community paediatrican, Dr Russell Wills is appealing to the mother of the baby whose body was found at a Hastings address on Tuesday 4 January, to contact a health professional.
“This woman could be at risk of infection or medical problems if she has not received a medical check-up since having the baby.
“We are concerned for her well-being and would encourage her, her partner or family member to contact a medical centre, or visit a hospital as soon as possible,” Dr Wills said.
