New Head For Gambling Helpline
Krista Ferguson has been appointed chief executive of the Gambling Helpline effective June 1. Krista has been with the Gambling Helpline for two years as Business Manager.
Previously she worked as the Strategy Manager for Investment New Zealand, attracting international investment into key areas such as film/television production and information technology. Krista has also worked in strategic and business-related roles in a variety of not-for-profit service organisations in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, with particular experience within organisations operating in an international context and experiencing significant organisational change.
Krista says she is looking forward to stepping into the new role and the challenges it brings. "The Gambling Helpline provides a unique set of services to people directly, or indirectly, experiencing gambling related difficulties and to people who are interested in general information about gambling problems. We are recognised internationally as leading the field in distance support through telephone, email and the internet. I look forward to working with the team to continue to build on these strengths."
Outgoing chief executive Gary Clifford congratulates Krista on her new role. "Krista is bringing many professional and personal strengths to the position. Her experience to date both within and outside the Gambling Helpline will be an important factor in developing the organisation in its role of providing personalised support for all those adversely affected by gambling."
