Great Response to ‘Wobbly Arts’ Exhibition call for submissions

The Dunedin “Wobbly Arts’ exhibition organisers’ final date for acceptance of art-works on paper and canvas, sculpture and ceramics from people with multiple sclerosis throughout New Zealand, is 5pm Friday 15th July 2005.

Event organiser Beverly Glenn is so delighted with the response to the call for exhibitors that she intends to make the exhibition an annual event. “It’s well on track, with over 20 artists submitting approximately 40 pieces of work so far to date. Interest has come from as far away as Australia.” The exhibition’s guest artist will be photographer Tudor Caradoc- Davies.

“The Otago MS Wobbly Art Exhibition” is timed to coincide with the National MS Awareness Week from the 2nd to the 8th September 2005.

The exhibition will be formally opened at the Dunedin Community Gallery, Princes Street, Dunedin on Friday 2nd September by the Hon Pete Hodgson and open to the public from Saturday 3rd September to the 9th September, 10.00 a.m. till 4.00.p.m.

The Otago MS Society provides practical and personal assistance, information, support and education for people with MS. Multiple Sclerosis or ‘MS’, affects approximately 3,500 people in NZ, with about 55% being female and 45% male.

‘There is still time for artists to present their work’, Beverly says. “This is a great opportunity for artists with MS to raise their profile in a national exhibition”.
