Calan Lifts Present and Future Distribution
Calan Healthcare Properties Trust is to increase its pre tax distribution for the June 2005 quarter to 2.2 cents a unit, which brings the full year payout to 8.5 cents a unit (a 6.25% increase on the prior years 8 cents).
It further advises the distribution for the September 2005 quarter will be 2.3 cents per unit and it expects to be able to at least maintain this enhanced level of distribution on an ongoing basis. This will deliver a full year distribution of 9.2 cents per unit for the year to June 2006, an increase of 8.2% on 2005.
Proceeds from the sale of non-core and non-yielding assets were used to retire debt, which has enhanced the Trust's financial performance for 2005.
The 2006 year will be positively impacted by the now completed Epworth Eastern Hospital, our flagship investment in Melbourne.
Calan achieved its major objectives during the financial year ending June 30, 2005 by completing Epworth Eastern and transforming our asset portfolio into a fully performing one.
