Thank God for the Surgeons
Thank God for the Surgeons
Grey Power Federation National President, Mr Graham Stairmand states that Grey Power applauds the attitude of 74 surgeons employed by the Canterbury District Health Board and fully support their stance against the removal of 5000 people from the waiting list.
"This is nothing more than data cleansing and the CDHB have recognised this with an apology and an extra $2 million to fund some 200 urgent cases that require immediate treatment," says Mr Stairmand.
"It is time that this approach to reduce waiting lists, fostered by the Ministry of Health and its Minister, was stopped with some serious investigation into the wealth of paperwork required so that the surgeons can get on and treat people instead of having to write copious reports just to employ the overstaffed Ministry."
