Contrary to popular belief, the Ministry of Health's own data shows that the MeNZB vaccine has had little or no impact on the natural decline in meningococcal disease.
ACT Health Spokesperson, Heather Roy has made the astonishing claim that "the MeNZB vaccine is saving lives" and that "The meningitis vaccine has seen a dramatic decrease in the number of deaths of New Zealand babies, toddlers and young people."

There is no scientific evidence to support such a claim... we let the Ministry of Health's own data speak for itself in this graphical essay. All five children who have died of meningococcal disease since January 2005 have been vaccinated. According to the Minister of Health not a single death has occurred in unvaccinated children.
