Groove to the ‘Red Puppy’ beat!

Groove to the ‘Red Puppy’ beat!

Are you ready to groove to the paw stomping, furry, fluffy ‘Red Puppy’ beat? The RNZFB needs even more volunteer collectors to make its new Red Puppy Appeal (30 March – 1 April) a ‘paw-er-ful’ success.

“Guide Dog Services receives no government funding. So, to help us meet the ever increasing demand for guide dogs, we need to raise $1 million during the Red Puppy Appeal. Public support is critical,” says Patrick Holmes, RNZFB Divisional Manager Fundraising.

“The new Red Puppy Appeal is fresh and fun. By giving power to the Red Puppies, they can grow up as world-class guide dogs and really empower blind people to live independently. The difference a guide dog makes is immense, but they’re expensive - $22,500 to breed, raise, train and match each one. With nearly 30 people on the waiting list, that’s a lot of loose change we need to collect.”

Help the Red Puppies bring independence to a blind, deafblind or vision-impaired person’s life by becoming a volunteer collector. If you have as little as one hour to spare between Friday 30 March – Sunday 1 April please phone 0800 REDPUPPY (0800 733 787) to speak with your nearest RNZFB Regional Fundraising Manager or visit www.redpuppy.org.nz

Donations to the Red Puppy Appeal (formerly known as the Guide Dog Appeal) can be made now – To donate $3 text RED to 883, to donate $20 phone 0900 RED PUPPY (0900 733 787) or please give generously when you see a volunteer collector out and about during the appeal.

The RNZFB is the primary provider of vision-related services to 11,700 blind, deafblind and vision-impaired people. Just one-third of the RNZFB's $22m annual operating budget comes from Government sources. The RNZFB has to fundraise the rest.
