World Honours For Two NZ Physiotherapists

Two New Zealand physiotherapists who established modes of physiotherapy which have been adopted throughout the world were honoured by the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) with International Service to the Profession Awards. The awards were announced last week at the WCPT Congress in Vancouver, Canada for Robin McKenzie, founder of the McKenzie Institute International, and Brian Mulligan, creator of Mulligan Concepts.

Both men are in huge demand internationally as speakers and lecturers. Both have written very successful books and other resources for the teachers and adherents of their methods in many different countries. Both attribute the genesis of their methods to chance discoveries. However, Brian Mulligan likes to quote Louis Pasteur, "In the field of discovery chance favours the prepared mind."

Both winners are Honorary Fellows of the New Zealand Society of Physiotherapists, and Honorary Life Members of the New Zealand College of Physiotherapy.

Brian Mulligan lives in Wellington and Robin McKenzie in Raumati.

For more information see www.bmulligan.com and www.mckenziemdt.org.nz .

WCPT represents physiotherapy organisations in 101 countries and works to improve world health through physiotherapy.
