Update from ADHB
MEDIA STATEMENT 9.30am
ADHB advises that it is
now business as usual at both Auckland Hospital and
Greenlane Clinical Centre.
At 4.30am this morning a small fire in an IT hub room at the Greenlane site, thought to be caused by a short circuit, caused issues with some of the hospitals’ IT functions.
No-one was hurt as a result of the fire and patients in the hospitals have been unaffected.
However to reduce the load on the IT functions while the extent of the damage was assessed and systems restored, outpatient and some elective surgery appointments were cancelled.
All people with either outpatient or elective surgery appointments for the remainder of the day should come to the hospitals as per their appointments.
Patients who had their appointments cancelled by the hospital first thing this morning should contact 0800 PATIENT. That’s 0800 728 4368.
The IT systems are currently running on alternative power and will be closely monitored during the course of the day, with full restoration to normal power expected tonight.
Patient safety is paramount and the hospitals will make further updates if the situation changes.
