No New Cases, Ward Reopened
Waikato Hospital has reopened its cardiac care
extension ward today
after receiving confirmation there
had been no new cases of
gastroenteritis in the hospital
for 72 hours.
Infection Control Committee chairman Dr
Graham Mills said there was no
only one patient in the
extension ward who remains in insolation.
"It is still
vital that staff adhere to infection control
requirements
of isolation and hand hygiene as there is
gastroenteritis within the
hospital and community."
Dr
Mills said staff had worked hard to keep the outbreak under
control
and he thanked the community for their
patience.
