Youthline Nominated for Community Award
Youthline Southland has just been nominated for a TrustPower Invercargill Community award, in the Child and Youth Development category, recognising Youthline's work in the community.
The community awards are run in conjunction with the Invercargill City Council and are open to all non-profit and voluntary organisations. There are five categories, with the winner of each category to receive $500, while the supreme winner will receive $1500 and a trip to the national awards in Wanaka in March 2008.
Youthline Southland Coordinator Leann Millar says she is looking forward to representing Youthline and their work at the Invercargill awards in November.
"The biggest thing for us is being recognised. It's always nice to win but I am happy that we have been acknowledged by the Southland community for all that we do."
Youthline provides a 24 hour youth help line, 0800 376633, information services, online services and youth development and leadership programmes in the Southland area.
