Increase in Elective Services Funding
Attached is a statement from David Meates on today's announced increase in elective services funding.
District Health Boards have welcomed the
Government's announcement of increased funding for elective
services.
The Chair of the CEO's Group, David Meates says DHBs are delighted with the ongoing commitment to the electives programme.
"The longer-term commitment will help DHB planning of services and allow the expansion of existing programmes over the next four years.
"One feature of the additional funding is an increased emphasis on initiatives to improve the interface between General Practice and hospitals - that should improve the flow of patients between the two.
"Certainty is a key in the ability of DHBs to plan and each will be determining how that will be applied to individual programmes and services for their communities."
