For Immediate Release 31/03/2009
MASH To Liberate New Zealand
The Men's Education Network will tomorrow launch its first nationwide Male Advocates for Sexual Health campaign, in an ongoing battle with Sexually Transmitted infections.
The 'Don't be a fool, Check your tool' campaign is a national action by students' associations around NZ, targeting males in tertiary education.
"We need to realise that there is no shame in getting an STI check up, 1-in-4 people are infected with an STI." National MASH Coordinator Ryan Ward Said today
On April 1st, students' associations around NZ will be involved in Campus Liberations, aimed at getting students, particularly males, to take advantage of subsidised or free STI check-ups.
"All students should take the time to check on their health, some STI's such as Chlamydia don't always have symptoms. You may not even know you have an STI" Mr Ward continued
"If you are concerned that you may have an STI, or haven't had a check up in more that 3 months, go along and get one done, there's no shame in doing it."
