Redundant One Week, Lotto Winner the Next
A delighted Wellington man today claimed his Lotto First
Division $216,279 prize from NZ Lotteries. The man, who
wishes to remain anonymous, was made redundant from his job
only last week.
His winning ticket was sold at Raumati South Four Square in Paraparaumu. Five other winners also shared Lotto First Division.
“Like many families, we have a mortgage, so we have been worried about how we are going to cope financially.
“So it is unbelievable that we won Lotto this week, it is a dream come true.
“We were just planning this morning what creative things we could do with mince for tonight’s dinner. But the mince can stay in the fridge now as we are going out for a nice dinner on Lotto.
“We may have been just three numbers off the right Powerball but this win has solved all our problems,” they said.
The $16.3 million Lotto Powerball prize, won by a ticket sold at Countdown in Cambridge, still remains unclaimed.
