Mary Potter Hospice Appoints New Board Members

Mary Potter Hospice announced today that it had appointed four new members to its Board to replace retiring members.

“Our new Board members are Mr Mark Cassidy, Ms Ani Waaka, Mr Kevin Allan and Ms Nicola Sladden,” says Board Chair Carolina Gartner.

“Our new Board members bring a considerable range of new skills and experience to the Mary Potter Hospice to lead us into the future with its many challenges. I have been impressed with their strong passion for the Hospice and its values. The Board will continue to be well-placed to face the challenges of the future by having such high caliber of trustees.”

Biographical Information

Kevin Allan. Mr Allan is a principal consultant for a specialist consulting firm focused on health and the public sector. He has been General Manager for the Life Flight Trust, Chief Executive of New Zealand CCS and a Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Justice.

Ani Waaka (Ngati Raukawa): Ms Waaka is an organisational development consultant with extensive connections with Maori. She has worked in private and public sector law for 20 years. Ms Waaka has been deputy chair of Maori Television and sat on the Film and Literature Board of Review.

Mark Cassidy. Mr Cassidy is a Senior Relationship Manager with the Public Trust. He has held a wide range of roles with the Guardian Trust in the including the fields of financial services, charitable trusts, project management and business development.

Nicola Sladden: Ms Sladden is the Chief Legal Adviser to the Health Disability Commissioner. She has been a lecturer at the Wellington School of Medicine and worked for the Ministry of Health and Public Health Commission.
