Medtech Global moves into telehealth management

Medtech Global moves into telehealth management of patients

New Zealand primary healthcare technology solutions provider Medtech Global is to partner with and Austrian telehealth solutions Zydacron in New Zealand, Australia, India, South East Asia and South Africa.

The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding that includes doing three pilots together in those countries within six months.

Zydacron’s product, Betavista, can be applied to the monitoring and management of patients with disorders such as diabetes, asthma, congestive heart failure and psychological impediments as well as high risk pregnancies.

It has been designed to interoperate with a broad range of medical devices that enable remote contact and monitoring of a patient by a medical professional. That includes devices such as those to monitor blood pressure, pulse rate, heart, lung, bowel and fetal sounds, pulse oximetry, blood glucose, weight and temperature.

Vino Ramayah, Executive Chairman of Medtech Global, says Betavista not only substantially reduces the cost and improves the quality of care, but it also eases the burden for both care providers and their patients.

“Telehealth is the way of the future and has the potential to address health workforce issues and provider access in a cost effective environment, while enhancing patient care and safety,” Mr Ramayah says.

“This world class and cutting-edge technology enables Medtech to provide significant benefits where frequent home or hospital visits are costly or impractical. One example is aged care and home care patients where Betavista allows healthcare providers to monitor patients remotely through use of simple to use technology. It also allows patients to access healthcare providers without having to leave home.”
