Retirement of Candidate
Waikato District Health
Board
In accordance with Section 71(2) of the Local Electoral Act electors are advised that Weo Maag, candidate for the Waikato District Health Board, retired (withdrew his nomination) after the printing and distribution of the voting documents and candidate profile booklets and is no longer a candidate for this election.
Electors are therefore asked not to vote for Weo Maag, as this will streamline the vote counting process. However, because the election for the Waikato District Health Board is being held under the STV system votes will not be invalidated if electors have already voted for him or vote for him in error. This is because in an STV election all remaining preferences can still be counted.
Voting closes at 12 noon on Saturday, 9 October 2010.
