Youthline seeks VIPs to help continue 24/7 services
Providing support and services 24/7 to young New Zealanders is a big job and to do it Youthline needs a legion of supporters.
The Youthline VIP Supporters programme has been launched to enlist people who want to help NZ youth – for less than the cost of a cup of coffee each month.
Youthline makes more than 400,000 contacts with young people in need and their families each year. The youth help line through text and phone responds to over 20,000 contacts every month – but this service receives little government support.
CEO Stephen Bell says the growth of the organisation over the last 40 years has been closely linked to its kaupapa of membership and community support.
“On our 40th anniversary, Youthline wants to reignite this vital support and ask New Zealanders to join us as Youthline VIPs.
“By becoming a VIP Supporter people can play a positive part in changing the lives of young Kiwis and receive a personalised VIP loyalty tag which will entitles them to a range of benefits,” he said.
Annual membership costs $24 and people can sign up
at www.youthline.co.nz/vip or by calling
0800 4 YL VIP, or at Youthline House, 13 Maidstone Street,
Ponsonby.
