Statement By Cosmic On Recall Of Juicy Puff Super Strength
Cosmic was advised today by the Ministry of
Health that one synthetic cannabinoid blend out of the
fifteen sold by Cosmic , Juicy Puff Super Strength, has
been found to have been contaminated by a small amount (240
parts per million) of the prescription medicine phenazepam.
Cosmic is only a retailer and does not manufacture or import
Juicy Puff Super Strength. The product was purchased in good
faith from an Auckland firm, London Underground.
Juicy Puff Super Strength is not intended to contain phenazepam, and Cosmic was not aware that it contained phenazepam.
Cosmic will fully cooperate with requests by the Ministry of Health in respect of Juicy Puff Super Strength to ensure a safe and efficient recall. Juicy Puff will no longer be available for sale and members of the public are requested to immediately return all unused Juicy Puff Super Strength product to any Cosmic store for store credit.
There is a meeting of industry leaders on Monday to implement an industry wide Code of Practice incorporating input testing standards to ensure that all incoming materials are screened for contaminants in the future.
