Boil Water Notice: Malvern Hills & Sheffield
Residents in the Malvern Hills Rural Water Scheme, including Dalethorpe, Hartleys Rd and Glentunnel, and the Sheffield area, are advised to immediately begin boiling water.
Water testing today has shown unacceptable levels of e.coli, an organism which can cause health issues. People are advised to visit their doctors if they are showing any symptoms, including vomiting and diarrhoea.
The Selwyn District Council has begun chlorinating immediately in affected areas. Residents will be notified as soon as the water returns normal results.
For more information, contact the Selwyn District Council on 03 347 2800 or Darfield 03 318 8338.
The Selwyn District Council website www.selwyn.govt.nz will provide updates.
