Be. Accessible leaders recognised for benefitting the lives of New Zealanders

Minnie Baragwanath - Chief Executive, Be. Institute

Be. Institute Chief Executive Officer Minnie Baragwanath has been recognised for her achievements in the disability sector at the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind (RNZFB) Annual General Meeting.

The RNZFB is the country’s main provider of sight loss habilitation and rehabilitation services to around 11,500 blind and partially sighted New Zealanders. Geraldine Glanville, RNZFB Board Chair, was delighted to award Minnie with the Chairman’s Award for 2011 at the meeting held on 5 November in Christchurch.

“The Chair’s Award recognises a member of the RNZFB who has contributed in a significant way to the blind community or society in general”, says Geraldine.

Philip Patston – Be. Leadership Director and Founder of DiversityWorks Trust

Philip Patston has been recognized by the Orangi Kaupapa Trust for his service to New Zealanders. Executive Officer Vicki Carnell and Trustee Pip Duncalf presented Patston with a cheque, the proceeds of which they told him, “you must spend on yourself, not your work!”
