West Coast
launch of Countdown Kids
Appeal
The West Coast
launch of the 2012 Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal will be
held at the Parfitt paediatric unit at Grey Base Hospital at
11.00 am on Friday August 3.
The Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal has raised over $4.5 million for paediatric care in NZ hospitals since it began with over $200,000 coming to the West Coast. This money has been used in providing specialist equipment in the paediatric and maternity wards of the hospitals and has directly benefited young West Coast patients.
Paediatric and maternity staff together with Countdown staff from Greymouth and Westport have been enthusiastic fundraisers for the appeal.
A New Zealand-wide raffle with some great prizes together with local fundraising initiatives will contribute to the appeal.
A charity walk and cycle in Greymouth utilising the Coastal Pathway will kick off West Coast fundraising on Saturday August 4. Walkers and cyclists are encouraged to come along to the Greymouth Aero Club before 10am to register.
