Recent Earthquake Affects Epilepsy NZ’s Nelson Office
Epilepsy New Zealand’s Nelson/Marlborough office has been closed due to damage caused by the earthquake felt in Nelson/Wellington last month.
The office, located at the Community Group Centre on Halifax Road, Nelson, is set to be demolished and the Epilepsy New Zealand Nelson/Marlborough Branch will be relocated to a new address in the following months.
Epilepsy New Zealand has been in existence for 57 years, working nationwide to provide support and information to people with epilepsy and their families. They also work in the community providing education, often in schools and workplaces where discrimination is at its extreme due to fear about the condition.
These important services will still be available to the community during this time. The Epilepsy New Zealand Field Officer for the Nelson/Marlborough area is still available to provide information and support services to the community. Contact with the Field Officer can be made through the free phone help line 0800 EPILEPSY, by emailing nelson@epilepsy.org.nz or online at www.epilepsy.org.nz.
