Arthritic achievers inspire on International Women’s Day
Arthritis New Zealand Chief Executive Sandra Kirby says International Women's Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women who have been inspirational with their achievements while living with arthritis.
International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8 March.
“Many New Zealand women who are living with arthritis have not let their condition hold them back, but have gone on to achieve successes for themselves, and others. Like Cate Grace of Christchurch, who in four years has gone from being lying on a couch crippled with pain to being an internationally acclaimed personal trainer.”
“People living with arthritis can take inspiration from women like Cate. They are an example to us all. They prove that even though arthritis is our leading cause of disability, it doesn’t have to hold you back.”
“So while we should remember all women who are important to us this Saturday, we should especially acknowledge those who have not let difficult conditions stop them from realising their dreams,” Ms Kirby concluded.
