Statement from Ian Macara, CEO of WellSouth
Statement from Ian Macara, CEO of WellSouth
The Trustees and Management of WellSouth are aware that the Southern District Health Board has been approached to consider the potential of establishing a second PHO in our district.
SDHB has advised WellSouth that SDHB has a statutory responsibility to consider such requests in an independent manner and on the basis of benefit to our resident population.
WellSouth Board and Management are confident that our track record and ability to consistently support the delivery of primary health services means we will continue as the region’s only Primary Health Organisation.
As any decision on the establishment of multiple Primary Health Organisations is the responsibility of the Southern District Health Board Commissioner, WellSouth has no further comment at this time.
Ian Macara
Chief Executive
On behalf of the WellSouth Trustees and Management Team
