Blind Foundation Street Collection, 30 & 31 October
Blind Foundation Street Collection - Friday 30 & Saturday 31 October
This Friday and Saturday an army of volunteer collectors will be hitting the streets, armed with orange buckets, for the Blind Foundation’s annual Blind Week street collection.
Each day three more New Zealanders
register to receive Blind Foundation services.
Public
support is needed now as much as ever.
Blind Foundation Chief Executive Sandra Budd says this fundraising event is vital to the Blind Foundation’s ability to do its work.
“The funds raised over this campaign will go towards helping New Zealanders who are blind or have low vision lead full lives with as much independence as they need. We offer services such as adaptive daily living support, technology training, orientation and mobility skills, employment support, library services and more.
Blind Week provides us with a wonderful opportunity to introduce to New Zealand some of our members and showcase the work we do together. Campaigns like Blind Week help us spread the word about blindness issues. It also shows us how we can each make our slice of New Zealand a better, more inclusive place to live” explains Ms Budd.
“Any support Kiwis can give, no matter how big or small makes a huge difference to the lives of people who are blind or have low vision”.
Catch up with the thousands of volunteer collectors who will be out in force during the annual Blind Week street collection on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October.
