Give A Little Cause: Help Support Chemotherapy Patients with the Joy Agency
The Joy Agency has launched a give a little campaign to raise funds towards donating its’ book Chemo and Back Again to as many chemo recipients who need it as possible.
“My hope is that Chemo and Back Again helps make chemo, cancer and recovery just that little bit easier”, says the books’ author and two time cancer survivor Andrea Fairbarin.
In Chemo and Back Again, Ms Fairbairn provides those who are at any stage of the cancer journey, with a plethora of practical tips, real life events, diary entries and inspiration.
The purpose of Chemo and back again is to help cancer patients learn to ‘do’ cancer and make it as easy as possible; all the while allowing them to feel joy and hope, as everyone deserves to feel.
“I knew how my body would react to the medications and how much rest I would need. I understood how people around me and my colleagues might react to me. It was all pretty much a known quantity. I even knew that I would get through chemo and cancer again. It was all doable and survivable as it was before”.
Every dollar donated to the campaign counts towards helping the Joy Agency to produce books for patients undergoing chemotherapy. $30 is the equivalent amount to one book; therefore those who donate $30, will have donated one book to a chemo patient.
To show their appreciation to those who contribute to the fundraiser, the Joy agency will record their names in a public list and add it inside of the cover of the particular book that donors have sponsored. Those who donate $30 towards a book can even request for it to be donated to any particular hospital around the world.
